The Baschi I know is an old hand in the Swiss pop scence and plays in Bashi and the ing Beautiful, a pretty good glam-pop/rock combo. He looks a bit like a younger version of Keith Richards and Mick Jagger in one..I like him.
There seems to be an upstart that goes by the same name, whom I don't know. Some young pretty boy, who looks kind of like that Gyllenhall fella.
The bottom line is: Did you see a guy who looks like a coke head or a gay cowboy? |

Some good has come from this thread. I learnt that "Baschi" is Swiss German short for Sebastian.
Swiss "star" = small fish in a tiny pond

SF1 had a two part "series" on him last month. In the first part, he took his Icelandic girlfriend to Iceland, and met her family. He even ate "sviğ" (sheeps head). The guy is pretty cool, and his music is not bad either, and yes, he is a "pop star" celebrety.

There are just too many people (even Swiss) that do not know him. And anyway, usually Swiss singers don't really go a long way. Especially the ones that were casted by a poorly forged show like 'Music Star' is.

He used to work (or still does) in Roxy Records, Basel & said hello to me once a few years ago when I was in there. I didn't have a clue who he was though he spoke English to me.
To be honest the difference between a 'music star' or a pop star (one that made it on their own) is virtually nothing here in terms of quality. Both are like all Swiss music except traditional, absolutely awful!

He did the unofficial swiss song for the World Cup, and he is now re-recording it for the official Swiss European Cup song.
Baschi - "Bring en Hei"
The song is excellent, and is probably the best footie song since 3 lions.
He also caused a massive scandal by singing a sacrilegious song called "Wenn Gott das Wüsst".... essentially "If God knew about...". It was all over the papers a few months ago. He has since apologised for the song, but not before he made a small fortune from the resulting hype.

going along with the footy song theme, the best has to be "England 5, Germany 1" by The Business |

The only one I could say is worthy the title is Deetron but yet he's so low-key.
