EF is responsible for my LUSH addiction as well. Seriously, you should see my bathroom. I had seen the shops but they always smelled so strongly I never wanted to go in. But after giving it a try based on a thread here, I'm totally hooked.
Hahaha, I have been adicted for years, it's folowed me here from US and Prague. Thankgod for Lush in CH, although it is pricier here. They make great gifts, too. There is a nice store in Bern that I like to go to. It's lovely checking their new stuff.

I can see that there will be many of these products in my Christmas stocking this year.

Do we have a shop closer than Bern?

Could be FUN!

(yarn?)

btw - I am having fun comparing the write ups for these LUSH products between the Swiss and the UK websites. It's pretty funny how overboard the UK sites are - making all sorts of claims. The Swiss one basically just says their stuff smells, good, is eco friendly and will clean your hair.

A word of caution: avoid the aduki bean massage bar.

Re: hard water hair woes?

If you're looking for non-silicon conditioner, Migros has a good one with green tea. White bottle with green cap. It's the only non-silicon conditioner I've found in Switzerland apart from Johnson&Johnson's baby conditioner (which I don't like).

Migros's Curl shampoo is also without silicon.

Anyone know of a non-silicon hairspray?

Ok ok, a bike shop

(and yarn)...

haha. Lush is cool. The oils they use, in the right dose, the different butters, it good for my fussy skin. Can be used in...erm, how to put it elegantly, kinky situations, (and not using the aduky bean massager, at least anywhere near ear canals, yes). I got me the rainforest shampoo weehee, in Body Shop, just hope won't get disappointed. And a Vit C UV daily cream, seems ok, not many evil things. But has that lemony toilet cleaner or Cif stench, . Still like it.

My bike is resting through the COLD weather we are having. Will have to use the stationary one or the cross trainer for awhile I think.

how about a SHOE shop? (ok, ok and yarn)

I am about to pull the trigger on a multi-item LUSH online purchase. Thanks a lot you lot!

ps: do you do commissioned knitting works?

It's really handy for guys in my family who don't know what to get for bdays, xmas, anything from there is fab. Their girlfriends have also appreciated me educating my brothers about the perks of Lush, haha...Now we all smell the same at family reunions. Hmmmmmmm.

You mean like this? Lovely banana cozy...

Hahaha...ok. Yeah, depends. My friend babysat, I am making her son a pair of socks so he can glide over the parketted floor, but don't tell her

We can discuss knitting on our voyage. Shoe store will do, anytime.

I used to like to wear ES Beautiful. Then once we visited my inlaws and my MIL was wearing it. I had to throw mine out.

Ah. Reminds me of me getting really excited about a Prevention mag, I love their recipes there and bootcamp workouts, I made the mistake of referring to to it as "a mag for old ladies", and then saw one in MIL's pocketbook, auch.

Back to hair, I think a hair fall and dryness could be also changing season, I always get dry hair when season change, don't you? It's like the mane is changing too, all animals go through this, I remember our cat did.

Re: hard water hair woes?

Serafina, if you need that shampoo from Lush I might be able to go for ya! I am in Bern everyday for work and it's very close to my office.

I have a number of Lush products, though they still use SLS so I mostly stopped using them as it really makes my hair super frizzy if I use anything with sulphates.
But their body bars are amazing!!! although, if you use them in the shower as a moisturizer (at the end of the shower, obviously...) they get used up super fast, so definitely be sure to keep them out of the running water, same goes for the shampoo and conditioner bars. I tend to keep them out of the shower all together and bring them in with me as the moisture seems to wear at them as well.

They have some lotions that smell absolutely heavenly, I swear, I’d wear them as perfumes in an instant! Though maybe not everyone is into that ‘green’ smell!

that's funny! and probably very logical. I am having falling out issues for hormonal reasons, and it sucks big time. stopped taking BC and it is causing massive issues for everything!! and the hair is the least of my concerns to be honest...

but I'll not drag this OT.

sometimes constantly pulling your hair back can make it break off and pull it form the roots as well. And I also was told as a younin' that if you part your hair the same place all the time you'll get hair loss along the part.... have no idea if that is true or not...

You know, it's time you came to our book club meeting, the best hormonal profylactics ever..Plus the wine.

I agree with the pull theory, I tie my hair into a tight bun, no wonder it falls. But hormons do play a role, fo sho, and seasons changing also affect this.

I use the Lush body conditioner on wet warm skin, glide it over a bit and spread under warm water with my hands, you are so right, it melts away when hot water hits it. Too expensive to use it up in 2-3 goes.

Re: hard water hair woes?

I thought I'd just add this on...

I've been looking for ages for a place in Lausanne that sells Paul Mitchell hair products (I find it works really well for my hair, even in the hard water). Today I found a little gem of a hairdressers just up from the station that stocks it - hoorah!

Direction: facing away from Lausanne train station's main entrance, cross the road, turn right, walk straight up Rue de la Gare, past the Canadian bar, and it is about a 5-10 minute walk with a sign advertising Paul Mitchell outside. Prices: about 20-25chf a bottle (works out similar in UK).

I hope this is useful for someone.
