Why not accelerate the whole thing with a pre-screening questionnaire? You know, the sort of thing that will separate the weed from the chafe... Do you know where to buy brown sugar?
What is the recipe for making self-raising flour?
Can I survive on XXX in YYY?
Do you like fondue?
Is the speed provided, or were we meant to bring our own? | The following 2 users would like to thank for this useful post:

How often is your washing schedule?
A women would score major points if I could gain a few extra laundry days a month. (Even better if she takes care of it)!!

@ Lisa - Please don't take this the wrong way...but does what you are looking for actually exist (at least here in Switzerland)? Would such a person be at a speed dating event? If not, then there isn't much point in going in my opinion, unless that is you're partial to a free drink or two in exchange for some mindless introductory banter...
However, I've yet to meet a female, friend or otherwise, that really knows what precisely, and honestly, they are looking for in a partner until they actually meet that partner. Therefore speed dating might be the best approach...much like browsing in the supermarket when you don't know what to have for dinner

Ok I only came out of a relationship a couple of months ago, so maybe i will change my mind in a little while.
A swiss friend of mine tried some swissmates or swissfriends website. Apparently it's not bad.

Ps: Really is it too much to ask for a guy, 27-38, good looking, financially stable, well educated, taller than 5ft 8", dark hair, blue eyes, active, tanned skin, good dancer, has a chalet in the mountains, good sense of humour, caring, likes to travel, a bit of an extrovert, probably a bit arrogant, owns his own house, has a dog, has a boat on Zurich lake, who speaks more than 2 languages?? - honestly i dont think I ask for much | The following 6 users would like to thank lisa_bsl for this useful post:

| | Re: Speed-dating - thoughts? | Quote: | | | | | Well, the typical expat event in Zurich is not unlike speed dating. You spend 2-5 minutes giving your boring intro spiel repeatedly to about 20+ people. | | | | |
yup. How long have you been here ? Do you like it here ? etc etc goes the boring intro spiel.

| | Re: Speed-dating - thoughts? | Quote: | | | | | Still thinking about it for now, also because its a german one, and my german is only B1 so not perfect, my chat auf Deutsch for 5 mins would be crap! haha! Ja Ich arbeite blah blah, ich wohne blah blah, Ich komme aus, das Wetter blah blah - though I guess most would speak some level of english, and Its also a filter, if they dont speak english it couldnt work anyway | | | | | Yeah, I don't think it would be a problem and in the event that you meet someone who can't speak English, he's probably a numpty that you wouldn't want to date anyway.... it would be the slowest three minutes ever. haha
Anyway what's the website of this speed dating thing? Sounds fun.

You'll be fine, the looks will work, even if time for words is too short (dating the waiter included)
Steed dating events are full of people who just came to see what kind of people come to speed dating events.

I wonder since it is a relatively new thing here if it's actually more user friendly here than elsewhere, where you apparently get these events plagued by the notorious speed daters and flaky personas only..There must be some con artists who just scout these events out and have a laugh pretending...I'd say, any social event here, hobby club or a church service is probably more productive than speed dating event, but what do I know... |
