Even if someone isn't religious to the point of being a "fruitcake" the chances of finding someone who is religious enough for it to be an issue when one is not religious is heightened by meeting them at church, no?

Of course, some do enjoy lively "debates" so a pairing of one religious together with one non-religious may work out to their mutual enjoyment anyhow.

Quite a few years ago I had a summer romance with a Christian girl.

If you've kept track of what I've said though (I don't blame you if you haven't, after all, I don't track your posts either ), I said that you never know who you may meet at activities you enjoy who may know someone you could get to know better.

So, you enjoy cooking / eating / discussing food and dining and make friends with some folks from a group like The Grub Club. You (omg, the thought of it!!) socialize with some of them at other activities and maybe get introduced to someone you otherwise may never have met.

You start out with something in common... friendship with someone else with whom you both enjoy socializing. Piece of cake.

A friend of mine took part in speed dating a few times and has raved about how much of a good time she had. So even if you don't meet anyone, it's a good laugh!

Uhm, what? Hahahaha.....I feel so bad, cmon, don't rub it in, what kind of moron would tell you that?

I was talking of a few folks I know who did rave about it but had certain hermit dispositions prior actually forcing themselves to come out and be with us, normals...A heureka moment, you know, "I can talk to chicks, there is nothing wrong with me..." Some need speed dating for that, some don't. But according to them, there are very many shy people who paricipate to get over some initial troubles. But that was a dif country, too.

It is true. I sang in a non religious choir, bunch of religious classical pieces with bunch of religious fellow singers in many churches and cathedrals. We all had fun and didn't feel like disputing god and religion all the time. Sometimes we did, it was lovely to exchange very different views. I wouldn't rule out church activities at all, in the past I found the crowd as likely to be interesting and date material as anywhere else. Sounds uncool, but whatever...
