I just got that Christmas feeling!

Why today I do not know but sure enough, today, I just felt that warmth of the oncoming festive season, that christmas feeling. I hope it doesn't leave me before December like it sometimes does & I promise myself to get out & about & do a bit of socializing. Work isn't everything.

This year has been tough but everything worked out fine even if I've been a bit edgy (on here too, sorry) trying to get things done & make more progress with life in Switzerland. Would love to hear what it all means to everyone else, even the cynics & if anyone's been 'hit' yet..

I think it is very soon time to wind down, be nice, take time out for the kids & generally be a bit more jolly.

And, of course, start checking out the activities here & Chelsea games to book over the festive season which I will, as usual, pop over to see.

Hooray! Ittttts Christmas!!! (well almost)

Me too. As soon as the Save for Christmas 2011 with Park came on the TV, I knew Christmas was upon us. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing!

Re: I just got that Christmas feeling!

I was happily nodding away at your post till the Chelsea part.

I braved the Globus crowd on Saturday and the Xmas decorations, ornaments, cards etc are already up for sale! On the bright side, I became super organised this year and managed to get great looking Xmas cards at decent prices (for Switzerland!)

Sorry about that, should just stay quiet about that little treat I give myself every year.

I can't believe me & the wife bought in the 2010 january sales for this christmas, can't even remember what so that'll be interesting.

My christmas feeling was heavily influenced by a 'Herbstzauber' Children's Autumn music CD I bought from Tschibo for them & living nearer a church this year, seeing them start to prepare all the stuff they always do already.

And I know I've been a pain this year, so bossy & single-minded (but I did much better in a my one-man business) so now I need to spread a little happiness.

Merry Christmas, transition!

I'd join you, but Christmas cheer - or Christmas anything - before Thanksgiving is just wrong.

Note to self: avoid Globus at all costs for the next month.

Might be a lil tougher than "simply" avoiding Globus - they have Christmas candies and such at Coop already as well.

Thanks MathNut, do understand, it is a little early... ....might have to buy the new Cliff Richard album to hang in there.

Re: I just got that Christmas feeling!

It's too early for me for Christmas - I am still pretending that it's autumn (even though it's too darn cold) and thinking of Thanksgiving.

Although I must admit I've already bought and eaten a lebkuchen.

I guess it's time to get to work making the Christmas cards!

Re: I just got that Christmas feeling!

sorry for the slight hijack - but dont really want to start a whole thread just for this question, plus its christmas related:

Has anyone been to the Colmar Christmas market on christmas eve, and spent christmas day in Colmar itself? Also, is it advisable to bring dogs at any time, seeing that its super crowded? I dont want the poor little fella to be trampled on.

I lived there for 3 years (yes, in the market ). Don't go on Christmas Eve- it closes early as the 24th is when the French have their big meal. Don't take the dog, he'll get trampled and Colmar can get très cold at that time of the year; although you can drink le vin chaud to warm you up, 4 legs can't.

That's cute! Considering how cold it's going to be, wear him in that under your coat and he might be really grateful.

Back ot- Christmas before Halloween is more wronger (I'm leaving this great bit of EN), than Thanksgiving.

Super.

Don't know what it is about the UK but if I don't go back around Xmas it just isn't the same for me as us Brits know how to celebrate it (Oh & none of this Fondue Chinois business comes close to Turkey Roast)!

Re: I just got that Christmas feeling!

My internal clock is screaming because I'm seeing Christmas stuff and it is a bit too early. I thought they rolled out this stuff early in the US, but when you don't have Halloween or Thanksgiving (as others have said), I guess you have to amuse yourself somehow. Or stores have to sell stuff somehow.

Of course, what's up with the unis here. Last day of classes is dec 24. Cruel and unusual.....

Ho Ho Schmo
