Re: 2 vehicles with 1 license plate

Don't be tempted to use both vehicles at once or you might get stung big time.

You can only use one number plate (OK, one pair) with 2 vehicles max. I think you pay insurance based on the more expensive car with a small admin fee for the 2nd car.

We used them when we had an older toy car for weekends. And they are very easy to change, no tools required.
Sorry for reviving such old post, but can it be that in some cantons its up to 3 cars?

According to Art. 13 Abs. 2 VVV it's only 2 vehicles per number, but there is an exception for Oldtimers (certainly in ZH and ZG), see 2. Kontrollschild

The Oldtimer exception may not apply in all Kantons.

Just be aware that they won't let you put all the large displacement vehicles on one plate. The nice man in the clean shop jacket will usually look through your list and make sure that the you're spreading your PS monsters evenly across plates. You also can't have a few Wechselchilder and a garage full of cars - each vehicle can only use a specific plate, so you have to do the Sudoku puzzle and think about which cars you and yours are likely to want to use simultaneously.

BigBlue, for example, wouldn't want to have his Rover and his recovery vehicle on the same plate.
