The best feature about internet dating websites is that you can hit on dozens of girls in a day (try doing that in a bar or in real life!!!). So according to the law of averages, you always have a high probablity of striking a match(es).
I like them for the same reason - you can just ignore the really weird ones and write a short and sweet no thank you to those who are off the mark but still nice. However, I've more or less given up on doing this, as it is amazing how rudely people can react to a no thank you.

But I prefer the free dating websites liek Facebook and linkedin
I used the Facebook apps without realising they were sort of dating sites when I first joined. Its surprising what you end up with when you are not necessarily looking. 'Like to Get to Know' was a particular favourite back in the day of singledom. You may find just what you are looking for or they find you

Please dont give up, theres always hope.

What you have to remember is, any male sending messages, say past 9-10 at night, is doing little thinking with the head he is supposed to be thinking with. Some even decent guys (like me) can come across as weirdos due to the heat of the moment and instant gratification. Just treat them nice, and you never know that the ugly duckling can turn into a handsome Prince.

Also I think the datng websites should also have some kind of "update field" regarding the womens" stage of the "cycle." I have heard and also experienced sometimes, some women like the weird ones too.

Also bear in mind (guys make note) that if a woman is not interested she will just ignore you, not respond but if one does make an effort to send "no thank you" all she means is "try harder."

Another friend of mine (a very smart & smooth cookie) approached some lady on a website asking for a nice restaurant in her Canton. She came back with a reply "Im married but looking for a boyfriend on the side. Are you interested?" He could'nt believe his luck, but still felt it was too good to be true (its usually the good looking, full of themselves type who fall for it) but still he agreed. And then he got the next message indicating that he will actually have to pay for her services!!!

I guess her husband was not giving her enough pocket money or sex.

You have to treat these like a bar or a fun day out. You go out for some fun, like in a bar or a party, and you never know you might find someone whom you seem to like but turns out to be a total weirdo on the 3rd date.

My favourite are the ones who say on their status "I will tell you later." After getting to know for a while, they invite you over for a meal and some spiritual union and just when you are relaxing on the couch, having a cigerette and you hear the door bell ring and her panicky voice going "Oh shit, I think its my husband!" -

"What?! You never said you are married!!"

"No, I said, I will tell you later so I am telling you now"

Umm, no, it means she was brought up right and feels that it's rude to just ignore people. However, since you have just confirmed what I was suspecting, the days of replying politely to what are sometimes really long, sweet messages that were clearly written for me rather than just a copy paste job are definitely over.

Ok, let me rephrase that. Those that send you pictures of their genitals or start off with a short story that involves light bondage and farm animals, you can ignore (and block). The ones that took the time to write despite them being a foot shorter than yours truly despite the clear mention of height as an essential quality you kindly rebuff - not their fault I have this height thing. When I say nice, I mean "aaaw, that's nice - but thanks, it's just not my thing".

What an amateur. Short stories about farm animals is a definite third date discussion.

not kinky enough?

i like the freaks the most. they are very entertaining.

the first contact on there left me quite impressed. after a few mins of chat, the girls said that she was in london tomorrow if i was free to 'meat' [sic].

i turned around to my gf and before i could open my mouth to speak, arms folded and with a very unimpressed look on her face, she told me "no you are not free to meet"

Re: Best Dating Websites

There's a contact who'd like to meet up.

Question:
1. What information should I ask of him before agreeing to a date?
I've got the general stuff like family status, hobbies, etc. Any trick question to find out if he's a weirdo or a decent person?

Meet in a public place and don't bother asking too many questions because if he's weird, he'll lie anyway (and very well) and if he's normal, he may not be able to give you as beautifully crafted responses as your average psychopath can. So you'd be kicking out the wrong guy. If you want to be a bit more creative, suggest you go see an exhibition or something like that, I find you are more relaxed when you are not meeting with the sole purpose of checking if this is "THE ONE". Which is what some people make it feel like.

Now that's a good idea. That way we can at least talk about something instead of sitting uncomfortably at a table trying to make conversation. Thanks!

Agree 100%. Dinner dates are too much like an interview. Very awkward. Go to a museum or an exhibition or something.

a good tip someone gave me: if you haven't already done so, have a chat on the phone first. doesn't have to be long but is a good filter. a dedicated skype account for this could also help as you wouldn't need to give away your phone details and can easily block weirdos.

It might filter out some wierdos, but actually it might also just disadvantage those who are no good on the phone. I don't buy that 'sounds-good-on-phone' = 'definitely not wierdo' and vice-versa.
