Well, unless you also like flipping burgers, I think you should discover some other interests.

Highest paying jobs are in medicine these days. Engineering, management, legal also good choices. ETH is awesome choice for engineering.

Why don't you start by telling people about the research you have already done into which university would be best for you, and your opinions on those universities, or did you just expect to sit back and let everyone organise your life for you?

You do realise you'll need between CHF20,000 and CHF30,000 a year to cover your living costs here, depending on which university you get into?

Oh absolutely..my ling/psych background is in fact pushing half of my work and research into stem, there is no way avoiding it, but why would we. I was just sighing over illusions of purely humanities beginners, the severely decreasing funding in that domain, discreditting push. It is edu that makes one think well and it is needed but as per job finding, better to combine with stem from the start, really. It is good it is blending.

Re: Universities for Switzerland

You need to speak near-fluent German for an undergraduate degree here, aka at least C1 level.

Also, what exactly do you want to do with philosophy and writing? And if the latter, why would you want to study that in a country that operates in a language different from your own? I don't really see this ending well tbh.

What research have you done so far? Swiss universities don't differ much in terms of quality, so whether you end up in Bern, Basel or Zurich would - for the specific studies you're interested in - not matter much.

You also need a substantial amount of money to cover you for the whole time you intend to study here. You need to prove that you have those financial means, otherwise you stand zero chance of admission or getting a permit.

If you do not specify a bit more, it is difficult to give an answer. And Google is your friend?

Start with checking if you have enough money, as stated by Medea?

Do say where is best you need to show a bit more motivation and reason then just because.

Other than that go to Fribourg. Absolutely Best! Why? Because!

The point was that from your vague post it sounds like you have not done your own research before coming here to ask people about which universities there are. That's kind of lazy.

Where depends a lot on what you want to study. For engineering I already gave my advice - ETHZ, very highly regarded, gets foot in tech firms' doors. Studying philosophy, history etc isn't a wise choice carrierwise

Comparison needs an "other" to compare to, which is up to you to provide. Sorry if that is not obvious.

Re: Universities for Switzerland

Dude you gotta work on your attitude a little bit.

You want advice - then provide details or answer some of our questions. In a proper way. Saying "Russia is shit country" is not exactly helpful.

Unless of course you're not serious about getting any useful input, then you can continue with responses that are devoid of any content

Most people here lean towards the helpful side, but they can't read thoughts.

This person is right. I'm at the University of Zurich and it's a very good school. I have friends who studied here in both philosophy and history, however, you really do need to be fluent in German, as both of these subject often require you to write papers and post will want it in German.
