I'm not sure if I'm asking in the right place...my family is moving to Horgen at the beginning of September. My son currently is in nursery 4 days a week but he will be with me full time until he starts school in November.

Does anyone have any advice/direction/recommendations for me on good ways to fill my days with my son? Obviously, we have incredible nature etc., but are there any good mom groups, playgroups, resources where I could find social things to do with my son....that someone can recommend?

I'm going to learn German but currently would need groups/reccomendations that are English speaking.

All help is greatly appreciated.

how old is your son? Kindergarten/School year starts in August so he will either start when you arrives in Sept or will go to in August 2018. Or is this a private school he will start in November?

If you make enquiries at the Anglican church in Zurich - St Andrews. It's in Promenadengasse, they will probably have such a group, and these mothers will know of other groups.

Which year he starts at a state school will depend on his birthdate, which the mother has not told us.

Yes. But the OP mentions her son will start in november. I am just not sure this is possible.

I'm also interested in the same. Not a mom yet... but a to be mom soon. Currently, 9 months pregnant. Will have 6 months maternity leave and can't imagine spending it at home. I worked in Zurich but live in Winterthur. So if anyone knows of any mom groups in either city would be nice to connect.

"meetup" has a lot of mums groups and I think even one in winterthur.
Otherwise google Canterbury playgroup which is run on Monday mornings in Zurich. Best of luck

Hi everyone. Sorry for the late response as we have traveled to The United States before coming to Horgen next week.

I'm all set with my son's school, his start date etc. The thread is really just to try and fill our days with activities in the lead up to when he starts...

Really just looking for resources for meet-ups, museums that are good for under 3's etc.
