Sachbearbeiter Rechnungswesen vs Other Education

Dear friends,

I did a lot of reading at EF and now it's time for my first post.

I would appreciate if you could share some insights, experience if it makes sense to start a Accounting Weiterbildung/certificate here in Switzerland for me and my girlfriend we both come and studied in an eastern european country. I do not really understand for who are these Weiterbildungs meant to be.

1. ME, not sure which one to do. Sachbearbeiter vs Fachausweis, or somethingelse perhaps? because of the relatively high costs and time commitment. I would do it in order to have some kind swiss certificate for better employment chances, not sure if worth it and how are these taken into account by employers.

I got 3-4 of accounting experience + Master degree from Economic University from my home country , 4 ACCA exams passed.
In CH 2 years of office work experience, just started as an accountant.

2. My Girlfriend.
No real experience, Degree in Law = almost impossible to work in CH in law, trying to start in a few field. Sachbearbeiter REWE probably recommend for mer?

Any comments will be very helpful.
Apologies for the lenght of this post.

Thanks for all the posts.

Have a great day!

Re: Sachbearbeiter Rechnungswesen vs Other Education

Some comments:
1. Sachbearbeiter Rechnungswesen: the diploma course is often taken by those who have completed KV office and other traineeships as a way to gain an entry-level position in an accounting firm or a finance department in a company.
2. Foreigners who have a background in accounting may want to take only the Swiss-specific accounting courses such as direct taxation, VAT and social charges (and business law).
3. After three years of experience with a Sachbearbeiter Rechnungswesen diploma or equivalent, it is possible to sit for an exam as "Fachfrau/Fachmann im Finanz- und Rechnungswesen". More details are at:
http://www.examen.ch/rc/de/5582/Zulassung.htm
4. Opinion: a person with a certificate as Fachfrau/Fachmann im Finanz- und Rechnungswesen is very employable in Switzerland.
