Best culinary college in Switzerland

Dear friends,

One of my relatives has secured a provisional admission in a culinary college in Switzerland. It is called Culinary Arts Academy of Switzerland (CAAS). It is near Le Bouveret (near Geneva). It is part of SEG (Swiss Education Group).

We are trying to find out how good this college is and is it the best one in culinary space in Switzerland? There is apparently no ranking available for these colleges and internet pictures are rosy; just want to know if anyone has any first hand experience in this space and if there is any feedback.

Also, if there is any other better culinary college in Switzerland that is worth exploring

Any help is appreciated

Regards

That's for hotel and restaurant management, NOT a cooking school!

The one OP mentions is a cooking school.

Re: Best culinary college in Switzerland

But they do cook there, too. I was invited at a party where the host was studying at EHL. She had made a delicious buffet all by herself.

"Die Master Class in Culinary Arts, ein sechsmonatiges Zertifikatprogramm, das sich auf die erweiterten Aspekte der kulinarischen Künste konzentriert, wie internationale Küche, Gastronomie und Backen[18][19]" This is just one part of the curriculum.

And since cooks make an apprenticeship here - three years of work in a real Hotel or Restaurant kitchen and going to school, too - cooking schools are not really needed, those colleges just want to rake money in. Nobody who would have only a "cooking school/aka College" under his/her belt would get a place in the kitchen of a prestigious hotel.

You need the nerve to cook in a busy and often not overly friendly kitchen and you'll have to know how to behave. It is not an easy job at all.
