Applying to Swiss universities with IB results

Hi everyone!

I'm not Swiss and I'm going to take International Baccalaureate Diploma Program this year and need some help

I want to get bachelor's pharmacy degree in universities of German-speaking cantons. I found out that general requirements for upper secondary school leaving certificates unclude some extra exams at the university. Is it nessesary for holders of IB diploma?

Also, can you please tell me whether it is possible to enter the uni with IB results or it is not so recognized over Switzerland? Maybe you have some real-life experience

Thanks a lot!

yup, I've already checked that and still have questions. I know that ETH accepts diploma without entrance exams and you don't even need to have exactly twelve years of schooling. But I can't find info for uni of bern, uni of basel

Re: Applying to Swiss universities with IB results

Best is to contact the uni direct. My daughter did A Levels and simply clarified with uni her subjects and grades.(St Gallen) After that you simply fill in all details on line. If anything missing or not acceptable they will get back to you. Once complete they will offer you a place. Good luck.

Medicine is a restricted subject here, including pharmacist. You'll get more information by contacting the relevant authorities.

This may also help

https://www.swissuniversities.ch/en/...baccalaureate/

Also here's the document stating who can apply for medical courses.

https://www.swissuniversities.ch/fil..._Auslšnder.pdf

You will also need to speak a Swiss language.

Is there any problem if i'm coursing the ''sciencists'' ib and i Want to Become a LAWYER in switzerland???

And if I want to become a lawyer in Switzerland but I'm studying Biology and chemestry? Is there any requisite for the admission, for example, if you want to be accepted, you must have history at HL or something like this in Swiss universities?

Re: Applying to Swiss universities with IB results

The Swiss Matura includes all subjects, so Swiss students can choose any subject at university level. Universities generally ask for equivalent foreign qualifications. So, if you only studied sciences they may not allow you to study law. Each university has their own entrance requirements, so it is best to ask directly. With most courses you will need at least A1 level of the local language in addition to the other qualifications.

B2 in GE. And I wouldn't even apply if it were anywhere lower, I don't even think B2 is enough. Undergrad programs aren't in EN at most times, one still needs to communicate with admin, etc.
