i live in a completely different comune. moved out of lugano 5 years ago. too many foreigners
Never lived there myself, live and work outside for 31 years.

Even my wife from Lugano actually is from Gentilino. Her parents are buried three graves over from Hermann Hesse.

MRS thanks for the update. It must be a relief for you to know your kid will be well looked after.

And ignore the grouches. The don’t get out very much.
This „grouch“ is hardly ever at home (would be more, except that there‘s a pandemic going on)

Also thanks for the update. Your post will undoubtedly be used as a reference for future research for those inspecting the area.
That’s why I posted it. I read some other posts recently where parents coming into Switzerland were choosing between public and international. My head was in that same space back in June with my first posts.
The folks at the international school we contacted were also very pleasant and professional - so this year isn’t a knock. And as we like the IB program, the kid may move back to international someday; however this way she really gets the language, she gets kids near by as potential friends, and we save a few francs that can go towards some fun for all.

That’s really nice. I kept in touch with many of my former students and their families over the years. And my teachers did too. Imagine my pleasant surprise when on my fiftieth birthday, I received a card from my first grade teacher.
I’ve bumped into former students on their honeymoons (I was living on Maui at the time), I’ve written over a hundred college reference letters, and at least two dozen of my former elementary school kids have since graduated from my university. I’m really glad that these teachers are also motivated to go the extra distance. I’m really impressed.
Why are you impresssed?
