Is it easy to find a job in banking?

Hello

Me and partner are relocating to Switzerland, Losanne in early Jan 2011. I am have a permanent job with B permit. He will get B permit as well.
We are both from new EU

He has 10 years of experience in banking with good German & English, intermediate French.

Do you think he may get ANY job in bank in 1 year after he speaks French fluently?

New EU is pretty vague and as it often happens with regards to jobs nobody can tell, only time will, but all in all I'd say you're in a good position (age, studies, experience, and languages). Best of luck!

Well after 1.5. there will probably be no need to distinguish old&new EU members. And chances with economical focus are always good2have here in Schweiz.
Lausanne area - depending on expectations & qualifications & luck. It is not completely job-free area, but you might end up commuting to Nyon/Geneva every day, like many others.

She could be anywhere from Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Letonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia.

I believe OP's partner has pretty good chances for the said job, given his experience and studies. Good luck!

well there's new EU (EU 8) and new-new EU (EU 2, Bulgaria and Romania). as for the former, there will be no restrictions to job marker from May next year. EU-2 will have restrictions until 2016.
