2010 bonus

Just wondering how much you got for this year? Name the industry and % of your annual salary.
I'm occupied in Finance and I got around 5% That is in addition to the 13th salary which as I understood is quite a standard.

Are you working for the taxes department?

Re: 2010 bonus

No bonus this year as it wasn't a good year. Instead we all got an additional week paid vacation for 2011

Industry: Small Software Development Company (30 employees)

Re: 2010 bonus

Considering the bad economic climate around alot of the world, I would think you should consider yourself lucky to still be getting any bonus at all. Many people that were hoping have had theirs withdrawn this year and some have never gotten one.

As for me I get a permanent bonus, being at home looking after my boys

Re: 2010 bonus

Of all things to discuss today, you want to know who got what.

Some are more fortunate than others at present and I would hope those with good bonuses etc would show a little more...restraint than the OP today.

If it is written into the contract then, it really is not a bonus is it? From my point of view it is just part of the normal salary.... Not getting it would be the issue!!!

The 13th salary is yours anyway, it just means your employer divided your anaual salary by 13 rather than 12.

Clearly speaking, your employer ran a savings scheme for you for a period of 12 motnhs whereby each month he saved 1/12 of your salary and at the end of 12 months he gave back to you what was yours anyway. The cost of administration of this savings scheme is the interest you didn't get.

Your bonus for 2010 was 5% of your annual salary which is less than your 13th salry which is 8.3%

Re: 2010 bonus

Thanks for the post above. It always amuses me when people are envious of others' "13th salary" payment. You know, some people get paid weekly -- wow, 52 salary payments a year!!!

Re: 2010 bonus

Finance. Nothing.

It's really all a performance related bonus isn't it? You wouldn't get it if you sat at home. And if you're looking at comparisons, what on earth would a percentage matter? You could be getting 5% of 180k, he could be getting 8% of 960k.

In completely bad taste, and on one of the most religious days of the year when we should all be thinking of our more unfortunate neighbours.
I understand where you're coming from Ittigen, but I think you mean that this is a religious day for Christians. Most of the world doesn't believe Christmas holds much religious significance (even the people that celebrate it).

In any case, and for the record, I believe childish Cityboy bonus comparisons are in bad taste every day.

Guess if you only work 48 weeks the following year you could somehow juggle the figures to make out 56 weeks in a year.

My African workmen could get paid 365 salries a year only they don't turn up every day, maybe 1 day in 3 if i'm lucky but that's still 120 salaries a year !

I'd hardly call a 5% bonus anything to write home about, more like Job Centre looming if this is all he was worth !

Hello?! I come from an Orthodox country and we don't celebrate Catholic Christmas, so just a usual WE for me. I assume the people who worship this religious holiday are supposed to spend it with their loved ones instead of browsing internet and bashing someone with their righteous anger
