Not as much as studying hard and well and get a diploma to find a good job.

Sorry, but 20 hours per week for a 16 years old student is a lot of hours spend on working while going to school, don't you think? I began to work when I was 14 and I never worked that amount of hours even when working on saturdays AND sundays. Since here sundays everything is close, 20 hours in one week will means a lot of hours during school days evenings.

I don't see much kids that age working here... While back home those are the one working at a corner store cashier, retails stores, being bossboy in restaurant or babysitting.

I'll believe it is depending of the job and the hours. What would you like to do for part-time job?

Do they have to pay taxes and social charges on their salary?

I'm not sure how things are in CH, but students in germany have to take care not to work more than 50 days per year and earn less than approximately 7500€. Otherwise their income is taxed and they have to pay social security charges.

Here's a link for how it's handled in Switzerland: http://berufsstart.monster.ch/15021_de-CH_p1.asp

No, this is "tax free" ie nett income for youths between 14 to 17 years of age and only in their spare time ie should not affect studies / homework obligations etc.

i don't want to buy a bike from it, only pay its fees and get some money to the gas

Re: Job for a 16 years old teen

For foreigners, you'd need to be able to show you can pay the fees before being allowed to enrol ie you can't expect casual jobs in the future to support your fees.

The fees ought to come off from your savings and / or your parents likely or some other means.

I've been working since I was 16, and have done more than 20 hr/week throughout my high-school and university studies (though, once I started fixing cars, I was able to reduce my hours slightly).

However, it's not so easy to find such work in CH as it is in the US (where I grew up).

I'm not sure if you have been to Switzerland, and am not sure why you prefer Leytron, but here is some info just in case.

You need to check yow many hours a week you are allowed to work as a foreign student. I was told 15 hours was the maximum in Zürich, but don't know about other cantons. I also have no idea whether the authorities actually check up on this.

If i could work 10 hours in a week i would be happy
