Paying tax on a B permit - 3 contracts

Hi there,
I was wondering is someone could be so kind as to help me out. I know that if you have a B permit and are employed, the tax is taken directly out of your pay check (that is clear). I also know that if your pay check is less than 2000 CHF, you pay only 2 CHF tax. Now, my question is this: I have three contracts at the moment, and I earn less than 2000CHF from each (but of course, more when everything is added up). Do I still just pay 2 CHF for each, or does something else happens, e.g. I received a huge bill at the end of the year?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Denise

I'm no expert on tax but obviously someone earning 6,000 is getting a normal wage and would be contributing more than two francs. I would imagine you should speak to the tax people so they know you are one person not three! Otherwise you will eventually get a bill when all the data has been checked and they realise their mistake!

Most likely, after a fiscal year has finished, you will get a tax form to fill out. The bill comes later, so better start saving for a tax now.

Hi there,

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll definitely look into it, though the total salary is always between 2500-3000. Do you have a website/phone number re: the people I need to contact?

Is any of these your full-time job or are all part time jobs? Different rates could apply.
Have a look here:
http://www.steueramt.zh.ch/html/erla...ter/w_qst1.htm

I might be wrong, but in general A-B-C are for to be used for the primary job, and D is for additional jobs. Tariff D is much higher and taxed already from 1CHF.

It obviously calculates best to have the best paid job in tariff A, B or C and the additional ones as D.

@glinaa - they are all part-time and salary is on a pay by hourly rate rather than fixed.

Thanks!

Yeah, I imagine they know but it's best you clear it up with them as being unaware of the regulations doesn't get you off the hook in Switzerland. In any case if your total salary is 3,000 and not 6,000 I'm sure you must be earning too little to be liable for actual tax in any case. Still best to clear it up, the strangest things can be taxable income.

Re: Paying tax on a B permit - 3 contracts

mabern, thanks for the tip, but now the question is, who is 'them'? As in, who do I contact? The fact that I don't speak German makes it also more complicated, as I can't seem to be able to navigate the appropriate websites.
