Your location states Frankfurt so are you already working in Switzerland and changing jobs or are you moving to Switzerland to start work here for the first time?

Re: Job change - what to take care of?

Are you moving house? Do you receive any child benefit? Will the change of job concern moving to/from working for the state?
If all those are "no", then you've just about covered it. Don't think I even notified the alien's department during any of my 4 job changes here.

thanks for the tips, was just wondering if i considered everything to take care of.i think that's all "no", so should be fine.
we will be moving later that year, but just within zurich, which will make it less complicated ;-)

Re: Job change - what to take care of?

You need to make sure you get a proper and good recommendation (Zeugnis) from your current employer. It might not be too critical now since you have found a new job but in Switzerland, they (HR) can be quite picky about this, so you should make sure you have a complete history/documentation...if you do this later, all the right people to give the input may be gone from the firm and the Zeugnis is an official and formal letter from the company stating your role and responsibilities with them...Recruiting takes these letters quite seriously in Switzerland

I would also suggest reading a few of the articles on http://www.careeroverview.com - good information and tips on what you need to remember when you're switching a job or starting a new career. Good luck with everything!
