Re: Waiting for job interview result

And what's wrong with being desparate? The applicant may have been out of work for many months and has a mortgage to pay.

Alternatively the applicant may have another job offer and wants to know the score before accepting.

Normally if I've interviewed someone I know fairly quickly if they can do the job or not and will give them feedback straight away. Employers that do otherwise and keep candidates hanging on are probably not worth working for.

Cheers,
Nick

I would think that they were a bit desperate.

My wife waited for 2 months two get a reply (positive), now she's going to attend the second round of interviews. And during this time she called the company like 4-5 times and she was sure that she was going to get a negative reply. I don't know what these guys are doing here (I mean the HR), but apparently, they are not in a rush
it depends on time as sometimes they start their headhunting 5 months before but if they really in need they use all possible or impossible means to catch you. Sometimes a negative answer is not absolutely negative as they can fire the first candidate after a three months trial period and call you.

HR does very little, to me one of the darkest misteries in life qualify in this question: what are they for in the numbers they are in swiss firms (well, at least in Grösse Banken)?
Usually, they cross their fingers and wait for Hiring Managers to get back to them (sometimes they raise the phone to call them though).

By the way, she received a contract from the company, but she took another offer. She was very happy to receive both offers on the same day, so she had a lot of time to decide on which to choose.
I hope the biggest issue for everyone who's looking for a job will be to choose one of the contracts offered
