Fine for Employers who don't send out Annual Income Statement
Hello EF friends,
I know if I file my tax returns late I get fined. I am assuming, as this is Switzerland after all, that there is a separate, and likely much larger fine for employers who don't issue their employees their annual income statement by a certain date. Can anyone confirm or deny this? If there is a fine associated I'd be interested to know what it is. I live in Bern, work in ZRH and the company is incorporated in Fribourg if that makes a difference.
The company I work for was recently incorporated in Switzerland, so this is all a bit new to them. I understand this, but I have asked them a number of times for this paperwork, but to no avail. As I never received a pay stub for September or October last year (presumably lost in the mail during an apartment move), it would be difficult for me to collect even the more basic information regarding deductions that I will need to fill out my tax returns.
Thanks for your help!
