Has anyone found a job through EF Job ads?

The English Forum job ads seems to be growing by the day, which is a valuable addition to this forum.

Does anyone have any success stories with the job ads on EF?

Thanks in advance

Re: Has anyone found a job through EF Job ads?

I was amazed to see there were no replies to this...sadly thats kind of proof in itself. I knew one person who gained a temp (1month) position through these sort of forums and my wife gained employment through another similar (NON AGENCY NON JOB SEARCH) website...

Re: Has anyone found a job through EF Job ads?

Just saw your thread.

My first job and work permission was achieved via the forum - through a random ad...now I have a permanent career-fulfilling job and an unlimited working permission...without that first job I may well have not been able to get the second one!

I was one of the 'rare' who managed to get a work permission as a 'dependent spouse' on an L permit...

On the flip side, has anyone found a decent candidate when they've advertised a position on EF?

There seem to be some right numpties replying to some ads.

In this context, inappropriate applicants. For example applicants for jobs proof reading English texts whose English and grammar is appalling.

Mmmm. Sausage and crispy bacon rolls are my favorite. Where can we advertise for them?

Re: Has anyone found a job through EF Job ads?

For someone whos here only on Visa D, getting married in May. Can i possibly avail of those babysitting/tutoring/cleaning jobs offered here in EF? As i have too much time in my hands as a trailing spouse and i doubt its gonna change soon. Ive read somewhere here that the permanent residency would take around half a year after wedding. What else should i be able to provide to be qualified even for those jobs?

Im college level but didnt finish. I have my A1 certificate for Deutsch language. No previous employment papers as i was living in my family and helped around with business (laundry shop,tutorial/preschool/review center)

Thanks so much as i am really quite clueless. I ask my hubby(to be) but he said he would help me out after the wedding and aside from that, he doesnt know so much either coz hes relatively new in swiss.
