Educational and Child Psychologists in Geneva? Hi there, Hopefully I am not posting in the wrong forum, but I apologise in advance if I am! I had a query and perhaps somebody out there might be able to help! I am about to finish a doctorate in child and educational psychology and plan to take up residence in Switzerland on completion of my studies. Given the applied nature of the course I have 2 years experience working as a child psychologist with a number of allocated schools and a large workload. I speak French almost fluently (that is I understand about 95%, can read and understand academic papers etc, speak well but make the odd mistake here and there). I am seeking work as a child psychologist in Geneva from September onwards. I wondered is there a conversion course that I need to complete? Does each school in Geneva have an allocated psychologist as is the case in the UK? Are there English speaking psychologists allocated to the English speaking schools in Geneva? And does anyone have any ideas of the salary? In all honesty I would be prepared to work in a variety of capacities from being part of an assessment team to working privately. But I have very little clue about how it all works there, how I would go about finding supervision etc. I have been informed by French friends however that the role does not exist in the same way in France and child psychologists are not well-paid. I hope that things are better in Switzerland? I would be grateful for any advice or contacts. I have already done a few searches online but not really found what I was looking for. Many thanks. |
