Trader wants to move to Switzerland

Hello,

I have been trading currencies and precious metals for the four last years. Nevertheless, following the tough times experienced by the financial sector leading to the reorganization of most Luxembourg's dealing rooms, I have been recently changing my trading focus moving from Forex to Commodities & Energy.

I would like to apply in particular in trading companies in Zug.

Surfing on the net, I found a few ones (Mercuria, Trafigura, Glencore) but I know that they are hundreds of.

Any advise please to apply or to find the names of those companies?

Thanks a lot.

Raphael

You have a few of the bigger ones - there is also Petroplus in Zug.

There are quite a number of small ones, suggest you refine a google search, perhaps search in German as well.

Re: Trader wants to move to Switzerland

In order to work for either of those companies you would have to either speak German or at least a perfect English...

It depends what sort of thing it is that you want to do...

There are loads of Trading companies in Zug which where established by ex employees of glencore..but thy are small ones so if your good at what you do itr might be worth while contacting one of them...

If im not mistaken i think even trafigura is a company founded by ex gelncore boys...

Good luck

Go for Glencore; it's the biggest, pay high wages, it's english speaking there, even though they trade mostly base metals as far as I know.

Geneva is also an option covering different type of commodities.
The Geneva Trading and Shipping Association is a good source of information.

Hi

Glencore are based in Baar, Trafigura are based in Luzern, Mercuria are based in Geneva.

Try Kolmar Petrochemicals, Greenergy, Petroplus, AOT, Stemcor, MRI. these are all based in Zug. I hope this helps.

Re: Trader wants to move to Switzerland

Plenty of traders in Switzerland... just apply.

By the way, even if the company is based in Baar (middle of nowhere) they will probably have offices in Zurich or Geneva so keep your eyes open.

What kind of trading? Phone? HFT? .. just curious...

Good luck

Re: Trader wants to move to Switzerland

Hello,

Thanks again for your help.

Well, I've been trading currencies and commodity futures for 4 years in a bank in Luxembourg, most of the transactions were made by phone and electronically.
I am not doing any HFT (but why not in the future, you never know), I use two main trading systems based on price action patterns and a few indicators.
