| | Can someone help me to write a references
Hello everybody,
I had a problem with the first swiss family that i been working here. She just gave bad references to the family that im current working, she said i been hitting the kids and stuffs like that. I went to speak to her and she just told is not true. So i wont fight because i think is not really worth it, i just need to write some references about what i was doing in her house and she will sing it.
Ok now, my problem is, i dont speak english really good and i have no idea how to make a good references. I would like to explain what i was doing, and how many kids i been looking after.
Can somebody help me???
Thanks alot in advance!!!

In the draft I would include things like:
Start date of job
Finish date of job
Responsibilities
Job title
A list of good qualities
Something like " I would recommend her as very reliable worker."
For the final version (not to be posted here), you would need to add:
Your full name
Your date of birth
Full name and address of employer

Your "salary" is not supposed to be a salary, but some pocket money. You are supposed to not see this as a job, but an international experience. The family on the other hand is not supposed to see you as an employee, but more an "older daughter" for a limited time that helps in the house to pay for the costs... but anyway:
There is a website called www.google.com If you enter words in there, you can search the internet! "au pair reference example" brought me in a second to this: http://www.aupairbureau.com/au-pair-...e-letters.html
Plenty of more hits... just search.

Thanks alot in advance!!! | | | | | beautiful fairy, I am happy to help you out. Just to clarify, a reference letter contains assessments of your character, quality of work and your capabilities.
It sounds like she only wants facts in the letter and not commending your work? If so, its not a reference letter - more of a confirmation of your employment. PM me if you like.

beautiful fairy, I wish I can put more for a glowing recommendation but I've tried to keep it more factual for her to sign it more willingly -- although I've tried sneaking in stuff to make the reference more positive, rather than just a statement of the period of service/sickness record. I think the latter is the worst reference one can give as many will read this as a bad reference.
See if this works? To Whom It May Concern,
We are a family of 7 from Muttenz, Switzerland.
As head of the household, I confirm that (your name) has been employed by our family as an aupair from (start date) to (end date). Her duties include catering to the daily needs and care of our 5 children, (names of Twin A and B) aged six years old, (names of Twin C & D) aged three years old, and (name of baby boy) aged one year old, light houseekeeping duties, ironing and our laundry. For anyone, juggling five children is a challenging task but (your name) has carried out her responsibilities with maturity, accuracy, efficiency and competence.
We are grateful for (your name)'s contributions to our family over this period of time. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Regards
