Interning while looking for a permanent job

I am making my way to Nyon in a few weeks and have had no luck so far on the job market. I'm the type of person that likes to be productive and keep busy if possible. I've done many internships here in the states and learned a lot and met a lot of people through them as well. I was wondering if anyone knew of places that i could look into to intern? All the internships I've done in the past were non paid so i don't mind taking a non paid internship if its going to give me experience and keep me busy while i search for jobs.

I have experience in the following fields:
Fashion PR
Advertising
Online Marketing and digital promotions
Facebook promotions
Fashion merchandising

If anyone has any suggestions of places that i can start looking into let me know! Also, not sure if being an intern is considered a job in Switzerland and if so, are there certain laws and/or regulations that would prevent me from being able to intern while I am there without a work permit?

Thanks!

An unpaid intern needs a work permit.

From what I understand, she is coming with her husband. She
will automatically receive a work permit through her husband.

For Philly: Once you get established with a work permit, I think
it will be a bit easier. How is your French? If you do not speak French,
I would use the free time to learn French.

Don't know if this exactly of help to you but the services you could offer from the various experiences are seemingly sought after. I've seen the Migros Klubschule introducing a new course on Social Media Marketing last year -
and job ads targeted at job profiles in SEM SEO as well as people for advertising in Social Media have increased. Prospects don't look brim. But I agree that not speaking one of the national languages could get in your way over here.

Hi, International Advertising is in English, so national languages not in issue, I work in Zurich & Geneva on a regular basis & my language skills are poor at best.

Re: Interning while looking for a permanent job

I am not married. My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years, and he has taken a job in Nyon and i've decided to make the move over since we cant really carry on a relationship for much longer with that much distance. I do not speak French or German, but have started a basic French audio course. I do speak fluent Spanish, which im not sure is a big help in the job market in Switzerland?
