Maybe, but he will not know the salary at the interview. The Swiss interviewer will not be put off with a polite refusal to reveal previous earnings. I am having dinner on Saturday with a Swiss union secretary, would you like me to ask her what is the form? The interviewer will not ask the previous salary question anyway. Swiss employers do nor do that. They ask how much do you want, not how much have you had.

tss tss.... not a good idea to publicize a desired position, regardless of the industry.
CH is very small.
How long do you think it would take another candidate to figure out where it is ?
And.... what would be your chances with a B permit against another candidate with a C permit or citizenship ?

It's not pharma...close but not quite. I ain't dumb.

Anyway I talked to them, first interview, they briefly mentioned salary, I told them what i got, but explained it was too low, and why...(permit issue...) and they said 100K is no problem, I said we will discuss that later. they agreed. LOL I will probably end up asking for 110 and see where they come down to. I have a second interview next week.

I didn't give the actual real title or the industry...

I'm taking a risk, but that's life...I really need to get salary info...I'm not too worried...

Re: Salary Suggestion for Senior IT Sys Analyst Position

The job description sounds good; now much can change depending on the level of responsability. There are no reports to you, so it isn't a managing position; but I think you should ask the level of the person you WILL report to. Should that be at "C" level, then I'd expect a salary of 200K; but most likely that will be a manager.

It is smart to ask someone to describe the hierarchy in the new company. Managers, directors, VPs... can come a dime-a-dozen, or be awarded to everybody walking through the doors as an "easy benefit". IF they will, ask them to explain you how the salary scale work (of course, they will not disclose the amounts, but ask to understand where is the executive layer comparing to where you would come in).

SAP jobs come in all sizes and shapes; some as analysts will be in the 100-130K, but as managers and directors they hit the 200-250K and upward, but it will take you a whole career to get there.

I tend to agree with most of the posters. 110-130K.

Re: Salary Suggestion for Senior IT Sys Analyst Position

Maybe 130k is a bit low, when Sys Engineers with exp get 120k, adequate size of company.

Re: Salary Suggestion for Senior IT Sys Analyst Position

The problem in this kind of topic is people refer to experience of long time.

With EU problems (Portugal, Greece, UK, Ireland) people still believe that managers are getting 200k.

Is this realistic?

I see senior Quality managers jobs in Zurich for banks with 110k.

Maybe in 2006 it was 160, even 2008 but in 2011?

Or i am seeing the wrong positions or you are really optimist.

150-200chf, but depends how complex the role and how difficult the data management mess is. My guess anyway.
I must say that's quite optimistic. I'd rather aim for ~130K.

You do not have to mention your previous salary at all. If they ask you, tell them that is a private matter, which it is!

be aware that in Switzerland if you tell another employee your salary you have broken the confidence the company placed in you, and you can be instantly dismissed.
Very interesting - why would discussing salary/package be a dismissable action? (I guess this is cultural and I'd liek to understand).
