Double check the expiry date on the relocation as it's good "free" money. i Say "free" as some companies put a MUST Work X years or return the proportional of the money...etc.
Yeah they have the clause i need to stay there for 1 year but that is reasonable, anyways even if I have to switch it has to be after the yearly appraisal cycle so 1 year is not a problem

there is this 3 month probation period for both you and the company. As I understand ( since it was never my plan I never really checked) you or the company can terminate @ 3 months without any issues.

Keep it in mind before you put yourself "kneck deep" in furniture for your new flat.
I was unsure but I spent my quota after I was certain they were going to keep me.

For us, it will matter which languages you speak. Despite being in Ticino, German and English are both musts, French/Italian nice to have, though at least one is also a must (or at least a strong "nice to have", as communicating to coworkers will otherwise be a problem).

You have to be able to communicate, and here it's Italian or French, though there's a deaf guy I work with that can lip-read in both German and Italian. Few people I work with speak English with me (also because my Italian/French is much better than their English), though there are several people I speak multiple languages with (top being our marketing dude, all four Swiss + English, though the Rumantsch is rather limited).

English only will not work in most cases. Perhaps some companies can deal with this, but in our case, we are 30 people, including 10 engineers, and the lingua franca has always been French, as we have people from all four Swiss regions, as well as some other countries (French is my 2nd language, even before I moved to CH).

The salary looks ok , but the insurance you are offered is only that required by law, it is nothing special (from what you have described), so be aware that health insurance and taxes are to be considered as well.

Tom

I could second what Ouchboy has written. Amount seems OK but is there a some career advancement along the road?
The problem is that often embedded s/w / firmware is done in the machine industries and usually good German lang. skills are required, so offers for foreigners are really few and far between. I would go for this one if for some reasons UK or US are not an option (many more industries with embedded jobs and a lot more embedded s/w jobs per capita). Unless you're a hot shot, with patents, recognition in open-source world for contributions etc - but then you wouldn't probably be asking us, mere mortals, here.
