| | Swisslinx.com - yay or nay?
I'm sorry if this was covered already. I tried doing a search regarding Swisslinx, but didn't find anything.
I was wondering if anyone has found a job through swisslinx.com. If so, how was your dealings with them. Any insight would be great. Thanks!

other half scored a job through them and they are an absolutely lovely agency to be honest.
They are to the 21st Century what Interskill was to the 20th | This user would like to thank for this useful post:

I hope they are not related to 'linked-in'. Linked -in notifications are driving me mad. I am not interested, but many of my friends are signed up.
It's a bit confusing, perhaps Linked-in are trying appear as if they own Swisslinx? http://www.linkedin.com/company/swisslinx-ag |

No, I don't think they're related to linkedin. Companies can create linkedin profiles. I think that's what it is instead. I'm sure other companies have done the same. Puts them on the web, let's people research about the company.

I have always been able to locate the various positions advertised on swisslinx, directly on the the employer's websites. Why should I go
through a recruitment agency, when I can apply directly by the employer? | Quote: | | | | | I'm sorry if this was covered already. I tried doing a search regarding Swisslinx, but didn't find anything.

Theoretically if You knew the company You could negotiate directly with their HR, but being in Suisse, I doubt You have that unique skills that they would go for it instead of using proven agencies. Not worth the risks, hassle etc.

When you go through a recruitment agency, if you get the job, the agency
will get a nice chunk/commission, often being 20-25% of your annual salary.
The economic situation at the moment in Switzerland, is not so great, as with the declining dollar and euro, profits of many firms are dwindling, and
companies are trying to minimize costs.
The company should be more than happy to negotiate with you directly, and rather they should give you the extra 20%, and have a happy productive employee. | Quote: | | | | | Nope, not true for my current assignment. Yes that is theoretically true, but if it isn't some small family company, people in HR or project leaders have very little interest in cash flow to recruitment agencies. Sad but true |

Well maybe they should start to care, as UBS and Credit Suisse,
which are the largest employers in Switzerland are laying off. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-0...ger-franc.html
Also, if HR gets tens of applications for a position, I would think in the
selection process, they would give preference to the one that applied
directly? | Quote: | | | | | Yes that is theoretically true, but if it isn't some small family company, people in HR or project leaders have very little interest in cash flow to recruitment agencies. Sad but true

Only where the individual HR employees get kickbacks from the agencies
for hiring through them! | Quote: | | | | | not had much experience with HR departments have you
