Hello all,

I arrived in Switzerland from the states just last week. I have being searching and applying for jobs in my area that i believe I'm qualified for. I just recently applied for a job at Thomsom Reuters in Geneva and was wondering if anyone works or knows someone who works there who might be able to give me some pointers or put me in contact with someone there?

I know that sometimes its all about who you know when searching for a job so I thought I might give this a shot and see if anyone could offer some help. Feel free to PM me or respond directly on this thread.

do you have the workpermit? or are you highly qualified? if not , well good luck getting in....and you are right it is all about who you know....

In Switzerland Thompson Reuters is seemingly understaffed. All the people I knew there have left! They refuse to hire enough people is the vibe I got. You should try Bloomberg in Zurich. Why does it have to be TR?

Doesn't have to be TR per se. My boyfriend is in the Geneva area for work and that's where I would prefer to stay otherwise my move here is pointless.

What exactly does your man do? What kinda of roll is he looking for at TR? Basically its mostly technical staff here and sales. Same with Bloomberg.

Most of the very diverse work (technical analysis, work shops, reporting, investigative journalism etc etc) is done out of London.

So it depends on what he is expecting to do there. I dont think he wants to be answering phones and making coffee for clients who come in for technical seminars (which is what most of the work is here).
