English speaking Electrician looking for work....

Hello all,
just arrived to Switzerland and I am trying to find a job as an Electrician.
Have also worked in Sales for 3 years and would be willing to work in other areas, I speak German and understand Swiss German, having been here before for 2 years with my Swiss girlfriend.
Any suggestions as to which companys or headhunters ect.
Any help greatly appreaciated

you know DE and SD ... and your GF is Swiss ,

So it is you who should help people to find job since rarely who have your option

just to clarify, your a swiss qualified electrician? or qualified in another country??

Hello bigblue,
No I am not Swiss, I am from Ireland and did my Apprenticeship there.
Its recognised in Switzerland aswell.

Then you need to get it accredited and recognised here. You would need to know all the Swiss standards, which are similar to EU "Norm". The RAV will probably be able to help you with where to go.

Your right about geting fimilar with the standards here I will ask at RAV about geting some info on the differences, its an EU qualification so its recognised here aswell thankfully, thanks for the advise and the link.

We paid an absolute fortune to have our lights installed when we first moved over (only to have them taken down three months later when we had to move!) so perhaps you could do some 'freelance' work like that!
We do have lots of lights that need to be fitted so if you are interested in giving us a quote (we're in Luzern, not sure where you are) please let me know!

Thanks for the advice, I will remember you if I get set up as freelance and I wont charge you a fortune
