Converting US resume for Zurich job applications

Do any other ex- pats out there know of any good resources to look at to help transfrom my "American" resume into one more suitable to be used to applying to jobs in the Zurich area?
As of now my resume focuses on my experiece, education, and some student activities I did in college/ grad school.
I'll be graduating with my Master of Public Health this December, undergrad degree in Economics. I plan to move to the Zurich area early next year, pursuing jobs in the biotech/pharma industry, and general business operations. By this time I will have completed my A level in German, which I'll also add to my resume

Thanks for any tips!

Re: Converting US resume for Zurich job applications

Hi Alayna23,

I am not an ex-pat but a Swiss HR Manager. The Swiss resumes focus more on experience than on skills and they are always in chronological order. First start with your contact details and include a picture (as an American you will wince, but this is how it is). Most employers want to see who they are dealing with. Then start with your work experience, put your last job first. Mention company name, location and job title as well as the main tasks but not too elaborate. Then follow with your education, again put the latest degree first. After that follow extra curricular activities and also language skills and computer skills. Also mention hobbies and or special certifications at the bottom.
