| | Doctors note from UK GP
Hi,
My agency pay me sick pay of 80% provided I have a doctors note.
Can I give them a doctors note from a UK GP?
How long can I be ill? Is there a limit of 2 weeks?
How often can I be ill?
My job is causing me no end of anxiety and sleepless nights, as the project is uncertain, and may be canned at any time.

Untill you get better, if your ill , your ill.
You can be fired at any time & for any reason without redundancy pay. The requirements are that your not ill when fired & you are given notice as required by the contract.
You probably should find a less stressful job.

Does your contract not give you any guidance?

Well well. I would be careful throwing all sorts of funky info online, more so, if you are just a bored troll, or should you have signed up under your real name. This is internetz. It can backfire.

Gosh, this newbie edu effort is not a very appreciated task, innit...
OP, pop in the introduction section, this is what we normally do here. While you are at it, please, check out the individual forums stickies, too, so we don't run into thread hijacking, etc etc.
Cheers and welcome our community.

Where are you now? In the UK or in CH. A UK certificate from a UK doctor who has not properly examined you very recently cannot be valid. When was the certificate issued? Even if you did go to the UK and where examined properly at the time it was issued, your health situation may well have changed by now- and the same doctor might consider you fit for work.
Did you ask a 'doctor' (relative, friend, whatever) to issue you a certificate by fax or internet? In which case it wouldn't be valid at all as you were not examined. If you went to UK to get the certificate with proper examination, your employer might well decide that if you are well enough to travel to UK, you can work. |
