Ask RAV directly about that. I'm sure they'll you exactly what FMF wrote in #37 but it's always better to hear it from the horses mouth.
I would not bank on accurate information where it's complicated, from either the RAV or from the Casse. I was specifically told that I would not qualify & not to bother filling in the paperwork, I presented my paperwork to SYNA, the head women who is a lawyer told me I did not qualify. I told her to submit the paperwork I received 400 days of benefit capped at the highest rate, which was considerably higher than my average earnings over either 12 or 24 months.

I'm not sure I follow. You did not qualify for the RAV or you didn't qualify to have your RAV payments topped up from a less lucrative temp assignment?

1) I did qualify for a new rahemnfrist.
2) I did get a top up for every month I earned less than 70% (no children)

Over the previous 2 years 1 worked about 120 days. In the last 3 months I earned a lot of money & yes my day rate was quite high.

It's money & not days that are important, although they don't really get it, the computer does.

Re: temporary contract with lower salary while in RAV

My experience with RAV is that they try to explain you as little as possible, or even worse, they confuse you or they tend to give imprecise information. For questions about money and unemployment fees, they always tell you to refer to your Arbeitslosenkasse... and also there, for cases that are not that simple, you could receive different answers...
So, as written by others, always ask a second opinion and do not simply give up when they tell you that you are not entitled to get unemployment fees and so on... they always try to pay as little as possible and to keep you away from them.
Thanks for the very useful info you are sharing here!

Thanks Tom. And are there any time restrictions for the temp work? The temp contract offer I have is 60% until the end of the year.
Eventually, yes. The unemployment insurance / Kasse won't subsidise very low pay from your employer for too long, otherwise employers would be milking the system getting the Kasse to top up tiny wages. They will cooperate with time limited contracts but don't sit back as soon they may say 'enough' if they hear from your RAV advisor you're not making enough applications and / or the employer is pulling a fast one.

Then you'll have both the RAV and the Kasse hassling you and nobody wishes for that...

It's a small mercy that they're willing to bridge the salary gap while your employment dust settles. From what I recall, the RAV / unemployment office is glad you're not 100% unemployed and their resources go toward those less er, fortunate. If the RAV ok your monthly applications during your temporary work - you are obliged to continue your search for better opportunities - the Kasse usually oblige in ponying up the money. Good luck.

They will pay for an entire rahenfrist, if at that time you apply for another rahenmfrist if your eligible thats fine, I had 4 in a row, I would have been eligible for a 5th......

... and get everything in writing.

If the RAV or the Arbeitslosenkasse do not give you the info, write them specific questions, numbered.

If you are fortunate, you will receive a reply in writing. If it is not what you think it should be, ask the same questions of someone else. And look up the rules and laws, as far as you can gain access to them, and read them yourself.

It may well be that you receive replies not as a letter, but at your next appointment, i.e. only in the conversation. Either write down there and then, in front of the advisor, what he or she said and ask them to stamp and sign your notes, or afterwards write again with a list of the answers you were given, and ask them to confirm or correct what you have understood.
