Oddly enough they don't make such a distinction when deducting insurance payments each month for unemployment benefit while I am working. All things are equal then, though, aren't they?
Insurance payments have nothing to do with taxation.

True, but the thread is about the RAV / unemployment and pregnancy / childcare. Tax is a whole other issue.

Re: Do I need to tell my RAV advisor I'm pregnant?

I'll call tomorrow. They were also quite funny about childcare etc and didn't want to accept that my mother in law would help out at short notice til we found a crèche place. Then my advisor suggested putting an advert in the local paper to see if there was a bored granny in the vicinity who would look after him because of course I would let him go to a total stranger with no qualifications apart from grandchildren...

At the moment he's 2 day in the crèche and 1 day with MIL and I'm registered as looking 80%. We were on the waiting list for 11 months before we got a place.

Re: Do I need to tell my RAV advisor I'm pregnant?

Well, I told him and he was very nice about it. In fact, he seemed more enthusiastic than I feel at the moment! He has said to carry on as normal, I just need to continue doing my applications each month and he'll explain the situation in more detail at the next meeting (October). He asked me what month I was in and didn't seem at all bothered that I hadn't told him earlier. He said that he thinks I have to keep up applications til 2 months before my due date but will need to check the exact details.

I'll try to remember to update after my next meeting!

Re: Do I need to tell my RAV advisor I'm pregnant?

A small update. I was on a work experience project (BNF ordered through the RAV) which you are only allowed to do for a maximum of 6 months. As my RAV advisor thinks it highly unlikely I'll be able to find a job now he has permitted/ordered me to request an extension of the work experience. I'll be going back for 3 months now.

Have to wait til October until I have my next meeting with him, but I'm hoping that he'll waive the need for me to do more applications as I'll be on this placement until December.
