Salary comparison

Hi there,

I was offered an "office manager + chauffeur" role at a company in Zug. The offered salary rate was 25CHF per hour before taxes.

Is there anyone here who is in a similar role or maybe in HR, who could confirm the salary rate for this role?

Would really be grateful for your help!

Sorry to say, but that is an awful salary for such a position. Some may say it is minimum wage.

Re: Salary comparison

Got the picture... My future-to-be boss was emphasising on flexibility which obvoiusly means sometimes early mornings - late evening and weekends.

What do you guys think would be reasonable?

Re: Salary comparison

I hope your wife has a good job, or you will never afford that CHF 1'800 flat.

Government salary calculator, http://www.lohnrechner.bfs.admin.ch/...d.aspx?lang=de

Taxes - Advisors/Accountants / Cantonal Offices / ZH Tax forms / Expat US Taxes

You need to ask for 30 francs per hour, it's not unreasonable.

Re: Salary comparison

"Office manager" seems to be a euphemism for general dogsbody - no offence meant - but if you've to be available at ungodly hours and weekends I'd go for at least 50/hour

At their convenience? Mate, that's at least CHF 50/hour, extra on weekends and unsocial hours, and call-outs paid from the minute you leave your place (which is not going to be in canton Zug at that salary). Seriously, you'd be better off applying at McDonalds - OK pay, you roughly know when you have to work, and paid overtime.

Do you know the number of hours you will work a month or will they vary depending on how often you are needed?

So it's 25CHF for the Office Manager part and 25 CHF for the Chauffeur part therefore 50 CHF per hour? How many hours a day? Bonus? Overtime? Weekend supplement? Bonus?/13th month's salary? Contractual minimum hours?

Re: Salary comparison

25 might not be so bad if you drive for an hour. sit around for 6 hours and then drive for another hour.

I'm guessing close to 10hrs 6-7 days a week, on and off.

Now this is my second problem: I got no problems working insane hours, as long as I get paid for it... I know that the Swiss laws do not allow more than 4-5hrs overtime a week... : So how on Earth could he put it on my payroll legally???
