| | should I submit my CV for coat check position?
I know I know, coat check girl but I need a night job. The application is electronic (basic info: name, address, email phone #, etc.) & you have to attach a picture so I'm wondering if I should attach my CV too. What do you guys think?? Thanks!
ps: no, I don't have any experience as a coat check girl.

P.S. Nowt wrong with being a coat check girl. A job's a job; a wage is a wage.

If you have one attach it. More important is to grovel and write a super letter selling yourself for the job.

attach a big picture with a big smile
if they don't give you the job it's their loss, no need for the CV... a bit of an over kill!

If you do include your CV with no relevant coat check girl experience, also include a "cover letter" explaining how your relevant experience applies (briefly!, a few sentences) as well as explaining how this job is a "good fit" for you (esp. if your CV indicates that you might be "overqualified" for such a position). Good luck!

I wouldn't attach the CV. Take a close look at the electronic application and be sure to fill out all the fields.
There is no shame in applying for a coat check position. Very best of luck with your application. Depending on the hours of work, they might be concerned about your method of transportation. Not sure if the application asks this but it might be something to add.

Agree: big picture, big smile, and a nicely hung coat and scarf discreetly in the background. |

I join the crowd, no CV. Simply put, you'd probably sound overqualified, while a lovely pic will do the job and not generate other worries.
Should they request you a CV, take out of it all those high tech degrees and MBAs in management, and keep it short, sweet and service oriented.

I have worked in gastro as a student and well... that's the starting point. Sometimes more fun than you think (you wouldn't believe what people discuss with each other when handing over the coat to you...).
Do you know where you would work? That's the key here. If it's in a business setting, make sure to attach a picture with you in a suit and a professional look (take the nose piercing out ;-) ). If it's in a bar, look more casual (leave the piercing in...).
I once even had to detail what type of music I was into cause the bar owner wanted his place to feel right for the right crowd...
