If he isnt trading for CS or UBS then his line isnt bigger than 100bucks. Thats not that big and he probably didnt earn a very large bonus. By mentioning UBS I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

But I am detecting a duplicate account here. Are you sure you arent the OP? ...
Fail. A lot of private hedge funds actually pay bigger bonuses than CS and UBS.

Nil, you dont get it. In this industry its a very very well known fact that bonuses have been slashed for the prop traders who were not good enough to get jobs outside of banks. Banks are cutting prop jobs massively because of the new rules and taxs on banks.

Since the banks have no reason to keep these traders on good terms they cut their bonuses in the hopes they quit. This is his way of saying he is better than everyone else at UBS........

He is being a brazen pome wanker.
It's Switzerland. If they want you gone, they'll just can your sorry butt.

Lighten up. I've no interest in his salary/bonus, and am inclined to think he's a bit of a punk, but you're really being actively rude. Calm down and take a deep breath, try to keep it family friendly.

Re: Trader Bonus 2011

He said he is a trader at a bank, per his comments to the IT guy.... Please re-read this thread. If you dont understand what is being said please ask.

Who said anything about hedge funds?

Would you rather I list myself as retired billionaire? Or would you rather I keep my feet on the ground?

You should understand that I actually know something about what this young kid is actually asking about.

If he isnt trading for CS or UBS then his line isnt bigger than 100bucks. Thats not that big and he probably didnt earn a very large bonus. By mentioning UBS I gave him the benefit of the doubt.

But I am detecting a duplicate account here. Are you sure you arent the OP? ....
No, I would politely ask you climb down from your pedestal and take your head out your arse. Nothing to excessive.

He has stated he is a trader, received a bonus which was not cut nearly as much as some of his peers and wants feedback. Some deeper underlying issues here? Did a trader steal your other half or something??

For someone to claim you know about this stuff, you are actually way off the mark with your stand alone CS and UBS point. I know that for a fact from contacts and clients financial affairs.

Lastly, no, it's well versed I am a US tax guy, I was merely trying to ascertain why, as has happened often on EF, the OP was getting abuse from the off, for doing/stating nothing wrong at all.

He said he is a trader at a bank but did not mention what kind of trading he is doing at that bank.
Considering most of the prop desks have been abolished and the ones who remain are mostly hedge fund related, explains what he is doing as a trader.
If you don't know about the industry please don't comment.

I've removed one of the (to me) more offensive bits (in the quotes too) and I join with jrspet - please keep it civil - more or less!

F16, it's not clear from your post if you translated the quote or not, if not, please, translate for all to understand, as per forum rules. Thanks.

Re: Trader Bonus 2011

OP banned for duplicate account. Thread closed.

What is up with Frankfurt traders these days, focusing on EF, makes one wonder. Performance based bonuses? Really?

Next.
