Hello Everyone. I new in Switzerland. Young Hr administrator. But can't get any jobs in administration because I have no French. I am experienced bartender too. Looking for gastro - hospitality - bar agency Geneva.

You dont need an agency to get bar work.


Just walk along the main areas wherever you want to work and walk into each bar/pub and ask if they need staff.

If the answer is no, then walk straight out and into the next one.

If they say yes, make sure you have copies of your CV with you and also make sure you are not dressed like a tramp or student bum.


You can get this done in one day.

I would have thought French was more vital for bar work than for administrative jobs?

Thank so very much. For any advice. Well you don't need much French in a bar, know the menu and few sentences for serving. But in administration, answering phones would be impossible also making correspondence .......

Apologies, no pun intended but...

This stream of recent postings is just incredible. Why people are firmly believing you just walk into Switzerland during economic crisis times, not speaking any local language and expect to get a job like that? Sorry, not even during boom times it has been ever that easy.

Why not getting informed first before coming here?
