salary for an office admistrator

Hi everyone, I applied for a job. The recruiter emailed me back and asked me what would be my salary expectation for an office administrator position 20 minutes from Winterthur. I don't have experience in this field, but I have experience as a content manager and customer support agent and I'm a fast learner. I would say 5000 but please help me because I don't have a clue

Thanks a lot!!

Depends on what your skills are (languages, education, work experience in general etc). Also how big is this company?

You can also be frank, and tell them you don't know and ask the recruiter what similar positions pay with your specific qualifications. Don't forget that the recruiter wants you to get the job as badly as you do, as they make a fat commission on it...

Good luck

Re: salary for an office admistrator

Have you searched the forum, i typed in administrator and found quite a few posts where this has been discussed.

As Frank2K says it would depend on the size of the company (they could recruit you as an 80% employee) and your skill set.

Thanks a lot for your answer. Actually I didn't ask questions about the company as I'm desperate to find a job and everything would be fine. I speak french and english. I worked 6 years as a content manager/translator and 1 as a customer support agent.

have a quick check on this doc, it's a recruiting agency salary expectation chart... It's german but i think it's easy enough to get the right job as administrator is administrator in german as well...

I've used this website to get an idea of the salary range. You do have to know a bit about the company... or make an educated guess.

Re: salary for an office admistrator

I'm not really sure what and "office administrator" is and how much responsibility you'd have. But for general admin salaries I would say 5000 is the top end and that 4500 is probably more realistic. It's quite possible that it's higher up in Zurich. So IMO you are at least in the right range. ETA: Assuming 13 months.

Do check out the salary sites linked above.

Good luck!

Thanks for your answers. I think you're right, 4500 must be more reasonnable but 5000 is ok too so they can always go down to 4500 which is my limit.
