Look after our own...

There are so many threads on this forum of how Swiss companies have taken advantage and actually set out to 'ruin' a persons chances of advancement or dilaeraberatlely 'burning them out' because they don't actually fit into the 'Swiss' way of doing things...

The same probably happens in many countries....

Just as a thought i was wondering with all of the skill sets that the English and other 'estrangers' bring to this country is there enough 'like minded people around ' to beat them at their own game?

Everyone has a talent, big or small, with the right infrastructure and a good management team could the English come together to help the English out?

There are many, many readers with valuable skill sets that read this forum, anything is possible!

I might be living in a mad world of my own and only have pipe dreams but I think no matter how big or small our talents may be, if we pooled together we could do something very special, in fact something that has never really been attempted before.

I'm an idea man, I dislike management, I hate control and i hate admin but there are those that thrive on those skill sets..

This is only an idea, a product or a company is a idea given life !

I'm expecting groans and the like but what would be more constructive would be 'yeahs' it's worth a go...

It's hard to see what you are proposing. You want to set up a (legal?) firm which fights the corner of anyone feeling like they've been hard done by in a Swiss company?

Or are you fishing for ideas to set up any random company/producer which will become a pillar of fair employment practices?

Fishing is not a word I would personally not have liked to use but it does somewhat fit, unless you own a company you are subject to the terms of the company you work for, I was thinking more of a collective where personal talents could be pooled to benefit the whole, I am not a socialist, more of an anarchist with morals...

I don't expect everyone to jump on this band-wagon and say 'yippee for the Brits or whoever' but to maybe start an idea, ideas are powerful if executed correctly !

Like a forum...

Or are you wanting to set up some sort of company employing English speaking people?

I don't really understand what you are proposing?

Re: Look after our own...

Thank you immix (sorry I hope i got your name right) but there are times to be funny and times to be serious, maybe by posting this thread i might appear funny but that was not my intention...

Most of us are here by the grace of our employers, if we ourself became employers for the good of all, with terms and conditions that we are more used to then maybe, just maybe we will feel a bit more at home when employed here...

I'm not expecting miracles from anyone in fact more ridicule but i might just touch a few that might think that it's an idea that could be discussed thats all?

But surely companies operating out of Switzerland come under Swiss employment law. Working in the comfortable and familiar environment of the British employment law is fine, if you are in the UK. I doubt it would be permitted here. Even if you register your company in the UK, you still have to stick to local employment laws.

I'm still a bit confused as to the purpose of the original post.

But it's late... and I think my neurons are starting to misfire.

This is an English forum, spread your hate to protect yourselves, amongst the Swiss who do everything they can to protect yourselves, roll your eyes, stick your tongue out or whatever, we make up 25% of your workforce because you don't have the manpower to run your economy we are a driving force, like it or not.

You are over priced, give little in return and treat foreignness very badly...

Every dog has it's day, isolate us and you will be pushed back to making chocolate and cheeses!

Gosh, you sound quite cross. I hope your week gets better.

I'm with Carrie and everyone else in this thread -- I have inferior neurons (or neural synapses) and just don't understand what you're on about. But I do wish you much luck, joy, and improved good humour with your project.

I must be stupid too becuase I don't understand either.

I highlighted the only parts of your post that refer to the idea - but its not very clear what you are thinking about...

You mean that if we English set up some sort of company here which only employs English people, we'd be more effective than the same people working for Swiss companies?

Is that what you are thinking about?

Switzerland is what it is today because of the Swiss and the work which has been done over decades by normal people involving themselves in doing a good job.

If you think Switzerland only has chocolate and cheese as a sign of success then you haven't quite got it. Or is it true that the British eat only fish and chips?. The 25% of the workforce you are in is another sign of an applied political philosophy supported by those people who, for instance, didn't vote themselves longer holidays, knowing that lying in bed in the mornings leads to nowhere.

If you get all your 'British Lions' together to form some sort of elite company the Swiss won't stop you. You are the ones who will have to make a profit. The mere fact that the Swiss voted against restricting the number of foreigners in the country to 22% shows how open the Swiss are to the world. No, we don't have the manpower to run our economy, that's what happens when you have successful products.

I suggest you do something about getting to know this country and its people better before gurgling nonsense.

Re: Look after our own...

Aaahhh .... I understood it - I think.

But, the idea is much like attempting to form a "commitee", and everyone knows that commitees just don`t work efficiently - like the thread posts here - everyone has a different agenda/viewpoint, and just leads to arguing and time wasting.
