Re: Zurich: top company: 70 open positions.

Considering everyone that's looking for a job, shouldn't that be the focus instead of wondering if the guy gets a hundred bucks or a bouquet or a T-shirt?

Are there actually people out there who would turn down a job because they guy that made them aware of it gets some sort of a finders free? Priorities, people.

As quoted from the Swiss Re Referral Policy

A. Definition of Employee Referral

An Employee Referral is defined as a friend, former colleague, or close acquaintance of a Swiss Re employee, whose resume is presented and who is subsequently hired.

C. Referral Process

The referral resume must be submitted before the initial interview takes place, or the completion of the candidate's application, whichever occurs first.

The Referring employee must be available to provide a reference for the referred candidate, as needed.

I really doubt that posting links on forums in the hopes that complete strangers apply and get hired thereby resulting in a bonus for the OP is the goal of the social referral process.

Seem to me like Burrito is just after a quick buck...Why in this age where personal branding is so important would you want so many complete strangers applying to your workplace and claiming to be your friend, colleague or close acquaintance?
Everyone is a complete stranger until you get to know them. Maybe it's important to find someone qaulified, so asking for CV's, that his company can review, they might find someone they need.

I didn't read anywhere that he wanted people from here to claim they knew him in any personal way. It's like if the place I worked for was looking for cooks, and I knew where they might be congregating, giving my company's business card and telling them who to contact, doesn't seem at all like a problem.

And I don't see why someone who is offering a link to that can lead to some of us being emplyed should be kicked around. I have seen so many times noobie posters that try to open thread for work from home, time wasting applications, and so on.

From what I see so far, this technical computer work normally isn't going to get people applying who are florists by trade, or other non related fields. So again, how does one not find new and special talent, if they don't reach beyond their own circles?

Seems pretty straightforward to me.
