Legal jobs for an english and italian speaker in Zurih

Hi everyone,

I am an italian girl in my Law undergrad final year in a University of London.
I am planning to move to Switzerland, more precisely Zurich or Zug once Uni is finished (around June).
I speak English, Italian and a bit of German and my LLB focused on comparative law (English Law primarily, Roman Law, Legal systems of Asia and Africa, Chinese Law, and Muslim Law).
I am looking for a Job in the legal field for english speakers (cause I don't think my German is good enough yet). My preference would be to work in the Islamic banking and finance Law but, since this field is not well developed in Switzerland I would put up even with something else.
Do you have any suggestion on where to start my hunting and which are the bests firms for my "expertise"?
All this bearing in mind than I will be just out of uni with basically no working experience, just a lot of notions and need to learn.

Thank you in advance for your help

Greta

Look at the Big 4 or a company doing lots of business in China.

Greta,

I work in the legal field.

I think your bachelor degree in law is useful, but it would definitely be even better if you took the LPC (and, if possible, in addition qualify as a Solicitor), because this would open a lot more doors.

However, I understand that there may be many reasons why you do not wish to pursue that course.

Based on your current degree, focused on English law, you would need to look for an international company, perhaps banking or insurance. Otherwise the academic field.

Best, W

A colleage of mine managed to get an admin type job working with a primary industries company - export/import. No idea how her law degree tied in, but they were prepared to send her outside Switzerland to their head office to do the orientation/training...they wanted her language and organisational skills as well as technical stuff...

Yeah I considered the LPC for a while but this year I am studying Muslim Law and found that Islamic banking and finance Law is a really interesting field which Switzerland will have to develop asap in order to be competitive with London and obviously to secure a really valuable clientele. I talked with different people and they told me clearly that if this is want I wanna do I don't need more academic training.
My problem is that I find difficult to find jobs info for Switzerland. The career database and info are not as comprehensive as in London. I guess I am just not accustomed with this.
