job search

Hello all,

I am soufiane, 21 years old and live in Vaud since 9 months.
I have worked 5 months (temporary job) and now (4months looking for a job) I still have no success in finding anything.

I signed up at job agencies (7-8) and I am having a real problem the way they work here. In the Netherlands we are used that the agency will assist you in finding a job (you get a response in a week or 2 (not months like here!!), here I have to find them all myself and apply (not that bad) but if I get rejected I am no getting any help whatsoever from the agencies, I actually think they don't want to help people find jobs.

So, I am 21 years old, studied "legal assistant" in the Netherlands.
Currently working on my CIMA certificate in business accounting.
I would like to start a bachelor's education here but I need at least 40 weeks work experience first).

I am looking for a (full-time) job, since I am having trouble finding a job I don't really mind to work in another sector (I worked here for 5 months at a dinosaur expedition).

If anyone has any tips or advice I would really appreciate it!

thanks in advance.

S

Re: job search

Sorry about the job hunt - I think things are generally slow here anyway, and especially with the economy, not many people are hiring

Re: job search

Hello and welcome to the Forum, don't be shy in using the search function on the top right corner to look for other threads with hints and tips. If you were working previously in the Netherlands you may qualify for assistance with the RAV.

Plus, don't be disheartened - easy to say I know - but there are plenty of people on here (including myself) who have been looking longer, it is just tough at the moment.

Re: job search

At 21 without much experience, not too many companies would employ you in your field. Have you considered voluntary work? Voluntary work could certainly lead to actual employment.
