South African's chances of landing a job in Switzerland?

Hi all

My name is Renč and I am a young South African with a big dream to gain working experience in Zurich. My girlfriend managed to arrange an internal transfer through an auditing firm (seems to be easier when you have experience in the financial services sector). I am a lawyer specializing in intellectual property and have started my quest to finding a job, either in law or branding. Do you think knowledge on the African Intellectual Property law will suffice as a skill not found in CH or EU? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Best thing is to get in touch with the Swiss-South African Chamber of Commerce to see what South African companies do business in CH and vice-versa.

If your girlfriend gets an open B permit, chances are you will have no permit issues if you marry her.

And you also just posted 2 surveys on organic food? Are you a student or a lawyer? It makes a difference on how easy/difficult it is to get a job here

Based on the profile - both IP Lawyer by day, marketing student at night. Bit of a crap superpower/hero but I guess all the radioactive/genetically mutated insect bites were taken.

I've seen some bad surveys in my time - but that one was woeful.

I fancy taking it again and answering all the questions with "dog"

Re: South African's chances of landing a job in Switzerland?

This question was posted when we first arrived in Switzerland 3 years ago. In the meantime I have gotten a job and am doing a degree on the side. I wanted help gathering data for my thesis but surveys are not allowed on the Forum.

Thanks anyway to those people that were willing to participate.

I think I might have done something wrong to cause the magical resurrection, oops. Not too savvy when it comes to this Forum, have not spent much time on it. Thanks for replying in any event!

Achieving the level of complete idiot requires more effort than most people find worthwhile. As an Expat forum, EF may have more overachievers than a normal population sample.
