Re: What equivalent salary in UK or Holland

EUR80000 with a 30% ruling means that your netto will be approximately 59000. You'll need to clarify if a holiday allowance (usually 8% of annual pay) and a bonus is on top of that. Let's say 59000 is your annual netto and you receive 13 monthly payments. You'll take home 4500/month and the 13th salary comes as a nice extra.

You'll need to cough up the following on a monthly basis (rough estimates, based on my personal opinion)
- Apartment (decent 1-bedroom) 1000
- Utilities 150
- Mobile and internet 50
- Garbage, water reclamation tax 40
- Groceries for 1 person 350
- Medical insurance 150

You do the math further.

On a positive side - Dutch people (although The Hague is quite international) are friendly and easygoing. However, be ready to put up with windy and rainy weather and remoteness from warm countries like Italy, France, Spain, and also forget about seeing any hints of mountains
