Re: Anyone work for Swiss Re?

Has anyone had experience with Swiss Re as an intern? Any insights would be great. Also are the intern positions compensated? Thanks!

Thank you G, you surmised correctly that I'm still in London.

If that is what that 1 hour is for, that would be excellent. (them selling rather than me selling)

Of course I'll prepare for a "what's your favourite colour" type question too..
Well... I've finally heard and I'm not going to be in London much longer! Accepted the job offer and will be moving with the wife in the summer so thank you all very much for your help with this!

How long was the recruitment process? Applied two-three weeks ago and my application is "in process" since the application date, according to the status on the website. Also received what looks like a standard email confirmation last week that my application is still being considered. I guess they are not accepting anymore applications as the job posting has been removed from the website. I fully meet and exceed the requirements for the role but wondering what are my chances? Has anyone gone through the recruitment process? How long is the process from applications to interviews etc.,Thanks!
Hi everyone.
I Continue To receive an email stating I'm still being considered. Does anyone have any insight? Thanks.

Re: Anyone work for Swiss Re?

I applied 5 weeks ago and finally see an update "Decision on application pending" dated Nov.3. For such a long way, it looks unusual.

Does it mean I am not short-listed but on the waiting list?

I would guess that they're still waiting for better candidates or interviewing preferred candidates. It you haven't called HR about this application they'll probably assume that you're not interested though so do it straight away.

As always, depends on how well you come across in your CV

Can't help you there.

In general as an existing employee, I also find the communication from HR lacking. Don't take it as a reflection on you being external.

Dear Bozza,

thank you very much on your kind feedback and update, to tell you the truth i was hopping to get this since i would like to grow and learn more in this industry.

They closed add at the end of September, and the status of my application is that they are still working on it, lets see what will happen.

It took them three weeks to change the status on my application from "new application" to "in process" !!! Sigh...That happened of course only after I sent them an email.

Can anyone give an insight to the HR and employment process details at Swiss Re, knowing there are lots of people here on EF working there. Thanks in advance...

To be fair is it exactly the same in any larger organization.

Re: Anyone work for Swiss Re?

I applied for a position within IT some weeks ago, but I was rejected just a couple of days later. They were very quick processing my application!

Hope that helps ;-)

Looks like you have been black-listed for that company (or your are over 50)...

Re: Anyone work for Swiss Re?

After about two weeks that I have applied for the position at Swiss Re, a recruiter has contacted me regarding the exact position! Even if I tell him that I have already applied but he can represent me for the position, does that increase my chances for an interview or it is still better to be a direct applicant?

Anyone with such an experience with Swiss Re?

Re: Anyone work for Swiss Re?

Companies prefer direct applications, because otherwise thay have to pay for those "representers".
