Anyone work for Swiss Re?

How long was the recruitment process? Applied two-three weeks ago and my application is "in process" since the application date, according to the status on the website. Also received what looks like a standard email confirmation last week that my application is still being considered. I guess they are not accepting anymore applications as the job posting has been removed from the website. I fully meet and exceed the requirements for the role but wondering what are my chances? Has anyone gone through the recruitment process? How long is the process from applications to interviews etc.,Thanks!

Re: Anyone work for Swiss Re?

Can you give any insight as to what that email means? Or how the hiring process works? It would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Anyone work for Swiss Re?

I work there. The recruitment process really varies by department and position. Sometimes it can move quickly and sometimes not. I suggest you keep following up with the HR partner for updates.

Re: Anyone work for Swiss Re?

Hi Everyone

Seems like there's a lot of expats at Swiss Re.

I'm having my 2nd interview over videoconference in a couple of weeks and the first hour is with actuaries, while the second hour is with HR.

Im not sure what a HR person could talk to me about for that long. Is it going to be a "what's your biggest failure and what did you learn from it" kind of thing?

Much obliged

There's a good chance the HR person will talk to you for longer than the actuaries will

Re: Anyone work for Swiss Re?

Lol thanks.

I should probably add that I've got 10 years experience having worked at a number of companies and done more interviews of the years than I care to remember. Still, never had 1 hr with someone from HR!

I am surprised you say this, in larger companies the interview tasks are often separated with the line recruiting manager concentrating on the job and HR talking about people skills, salaries, benefits, and making a HR an assessment

Second this. Had a few interviews last year and every interview included one hour with HR, besides the hour or so with someone related to the position/department. Maybe things have changed/are different in CH...?

Anyways, good luck to all of you waiting for news! The Swiss are sometimes taking their time in making decisions, but good things will come for those who wait

Your location says London. If that's accurate and this is a job move for which you would be relocating, the HR person may be there either to (a) get a sense for whether you are really willing/ready/able to relocate to Switzerland if it is early in your recruiting process; or (b) give you an overview of what expat services / benefits they offer if you are late in the process.

Re: Anyone work for Swiss Re?

Thank you G, you surmised correctly that I'm still in London.

If that is what that 1 hour is for, that would be excellent. (them selling rather than me selling)

Of course I'll prepare for a "what's your favourite colour" type question too..
