About my job hunting, help me with some ideas or advices

Hi, everyone,I have been reading most threads related with job hunting here in switzerland. I am from outside EU countries, so it is even harder for me. Currently I have a job which I dislike very much, complicated reasons. I have a B permit which is tied to my current job and canton.

have been job hunting since a few months ago. send out quite a lot of applications, quite a lot means really quite a lot. got two serious interviews and several telephone interviews. all others are negative results.

I dont speak german. but I am learning hard. However, actually I am currently B1 level only after a few months of studying. I am in finance related area with around 2 years of experience, master degree from another country. Basically, it is quite hard for me, because I do not have enough experience of working, and the work permit is complicated, etc.

So I really do not know what do I have to do now. people say, donot give up, keep heads up, etc. However, after such a long time of frustration and other problems in life, it is quite hard to pass the days.

My ways of searching jobs are jobs.ch topjobs.ch jobup.ch then some big company websites. But it is not working so well. I have already a cover letter model for all companies and CV, which costs me less time for every single time of application.

I really do not know what else I can do. please help me with better ideas.

Thanks.

If you are really keen to get another job, the last thing you should be doing is looking to save time on your applications...

+1 for this advice. You need to tailor your cover letter and CV to each job. As a non-EU you need to stand out, and having a canned or generic format won't help you do that. An employer needs to have a good incentive to go through the permit process.

Um, why are you concentrating on German if you are living in Geneva? How is your French?, is it holding you back.
