Had a good experience (as good as signing on to be unemployed can be) with the chomage/RAV office in Neuchatel. Very friendly lady there who spoke impeccable English. Made some phone calls on my behalf as well since my French is diabolical.

She even managed to get me excused from the supposedly obligatory orientation meeting which is all in French and 3-4 hours long!

Unfortunately the office which I need to go to for meetings (La Chaux-de-Fonds) does not have an English speaker so I need to take a translator.

Hopefully I can update this thread with details about transferring the unemployment benefit to the UK at Swiss rates for 3 months.

Interested to hear how it goes. I think you need to be unemployed for 3-6 months in CH first.

The lady who registered me said one month in Switzerland then I can get 3 months in the EU. She didn't know if I had to deregister or not though and said to ask my advisor.

Very interested to know if you need to deregister or if you need to retain an apartment & pay insurance. Good luck

I think evilshill deregistered and got it when moving to Manchester.
