Hello,

I have search the forum but can't find any situation like mine.

I was working for a "temp bureau" for about three years when my contract ended. I am now eligible for Unemployment benefits.

However, instead of starting to look for a job and get the benefit, I decided to leave CH for some months and I am wondering how the Unemployment benefits will be calculated when I return (after maybe eight months).

Will I lose money on my stay abroad? In other words, when calculating my yearly income, will they take into consideration that I now have eight months with 0 CHF as income and thereby reduce my Unemployment benefits with more than 50%?

I hope and believe that they will only take my working months into consideration but you never know - unless you ask.

I will not be working during my stay outside CH.

I did send RAV an email but didn't get any reply.

Thanks!

You should open a rahmendrist before leaving as your insured salary is based on last 6 months earnings. After 8 months away you will have an insured salary of zero.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I left CH two months ago without doing anything before I left.

Guess I better get a job ASAP once I return.

Thanks, but I am not there. Could someone else do it for me or is it possible to do from a distance?
